The NEVER Alone Project Story

On April 29, 2020, Elizabeth Reiter was hospitalized with double pneumonia and a blood infection ... despite being tested negative for COVID (her 2nd negative test), her husband, Steve wasn't allowed to be by her side.

On her 21st day at Univ. of CO Hospital-Anschutz, she was set to come home, but a blood clot hit her lungs and killed her. Steve wasn’t allowed into the hospital until she was gone.

It's clear that the American healthcare system was woefully under-prepared for this pandemic, especially with the reduction of the national stockpiles of PPE and hundreds of thousands of Americans were caused immeasurable harm by facing doctor appointments, medical procedures, giving birth, ER visits, short and long term hospital stays all by themselves ... ALONE.

There's a balance between protecting doctors, nurses, staff, and other patients from a pandemic and giving the individual the human contact, support, and human touch we so desperately need ... most hospitals and medical facilities pretty much ignored the needs of the individuals to protect the collective.

This is human rights abuse.

The NEVER Alone Project exists to:
1 - Mobilize a community to raise awareness for this movement
2 - Heal as a community
3 - Seek legislative and regulatory change that balances the needs of the medical establishment and the needs of the individual patient
